Kumaran Master succumbs to endosulfan-inflicted disease

VANINAGAR: Endosulfan, the deadly pesticide, has claimed one more life in Vani Nagar, here, on Thursday. N Kumaran Master, who was in the forefront of many a anti-endosulfan agitation, succumbed to cancer after being bed-ridden for a prolonged period.

Struggling with his endosulfan-inflicted disease, Kumaran Master had tried every system of medicine and consulted expert doctors for the last three years.

The sufferings of Kumaran Master had hogged the media attention too.

Most of the political leaders in the State, including Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan, BJP State president C K Padmanabhan, CPI leader K Vasudevan Nair and a host of environmentalists had visited Kumaran Master while he was bed- ridden.

A native of Uduma, Kumaran Master had retired as the Headmaster Government High School in Panaje in Karnataka, 10 km from his native village of Vaninagar.
